Hello William - Good luck with the kidney stones and welcome to the daily doodahh.

Elfen, I had tickets to see that episode of buzzcocks being recorded but couldn't make it...was gutted when I heard it was Mr T hosting.

Just been talking to the bank's solicitors - had a letter asking for repayment. She seems to think that they will move quickly towards repossession unless I either pay up, sell my house or propose a monthly payment over 10 years.
    Not good.

Bookie, this link is from our city council web site, but could it help you with info?

I don't have a fire...I have a fireplace with a big gap and the wind whistles down in winter!

I must do something constructive this evening

    Ok
Put oven stuff on to clean
Hoover and wash Kitchen Floor (might have to leave the cleaning until after the oven is done)
    Hoover downstairs
Phone CCCS to arrange a review!
    Put rubbish and re-cycling out
look in the freezer to see what we can live on for the remainder of the month!

Think that will do for now!

    I love my fire.

    Lots

    and then a bit more.

DD's fight for the bestest spot in front of it and then sit there until they bake through to the bones.

  • It's the business debt they want repaying - nearly £60k. Then there's the mortgage.
I think I have to accept that a job at Tesco's is just not going to solve such a huge problem. It looks more and more like I shall have to sell and rent somewhere. Not going to get too upset - nothing can be really started that way until next year so I will just enjoy my last Christmas and start packing up afterwards.
At the end of the day it is only bricks and mortar.

Hang in there Bookie, you are going to be Tesco's newest employee soon, and if you start to be able to make the repayments again, the process will stop (even if they take you to court, if you CAN pay, the best they are likely to get is a suspended reposession order).

Focus on getting the job, worrying about what one bank employee has told you is counter-productive, you need a clear head and as little stress as possible.

IF it comes to reposession, deal with it then, concentrate on the job in hand for the moment. Hope that doesn't sound patronising. :o

Edit - cross posted, but glad you are taking a philosophical view of things. I presume the business debt is secured on the house? Could you cover repayments on that and the mortgage if you get the Tesco job?

It might be worth talking to the CAB about what your options are if not - ie what will be best for you in the long run, reposession/bankruptcy etc.

Welcome William, trust me you are not the only one on here who has made a few mistakes along the way, so we wont judge you.

    No, it makes sense.
At the end of the day I cannot possibly earn enough to pay £800 a month mortgage and loan repayments and life.
