LED Lenser Police Tech, which model?

This post could be elsewhere, but the nature of it decrees it is appropriate here. I'm tempted to buy one of these LED Lenser Police Tech which seem to retail about £25, however there appears to be a number of variations to this, ie model. Maybe if anyone has one, they might impart their knowledge please.

Now to the question of lumens?. whatever they may be. I'm telling myself they are like wattage, is this so. If I saw several torches of a size that suited me, 5"/6" for example, the one with the most lumens would give the best light?

Wattage is a measure of power or energy conversion. Lumens is a measure of luminous flux (light intensity percieved by the eye). Think of light bulbs; a 60W normal bulb and an 11W energy saving lamp will give similar light levels (lumens) for very different power consumptions (in watts). The energy saving lamp converts more energy into light and less into heat.

  • Have a look in Sports Direct (or Field & Trek as they're owned by Sports Direct).

They have the LED Lenser P7 (200 Lumens) with a free P3 torch and 4 spare batteries for £45. The Field & Trek shop in Chichester did, they did the smaller models too.

Thanks I've noted your suggested outlets and remembered my daughter & husband both get military discount in that type of store, so will wait till we're with them at weekend.
