ASDA staff humiliated and left my 82 year old nan distressed in store-Rushdon

Hy in brief[ I have all copies of letters , times of phone messages and 1 response/

ASDA staff at rushden left my 82 year old nan, feeling humilaited, uncomfortable and in my opinion abused as a customer in that she left the store very distressed, upset and sick, she was due to enoy a weekend holliday I paid for as a surprise, this was spolied as she felt very depresed by the whole experience. Al becasue she asked for the wrong cigaretes, the two women it seems, sighed at her, giggled and laughed at my nan who didnt think it was funny, in fact my nan felt belitteled by the experience. I have sent a letter to ASDA CEO over two weeks ago, no rsepnse, an email to ASDA, a reply saying they recieved my email will be in touch; no reply
I contacted store, recieved a message from Duty manager after nearly 4 days, basicall said sorry?????

I feel that my nan should be compendsated for her experience, she has recieved nothing from ASDA at allnot even an apology?

What can I do to escualte my complaint so someone will respooond, can I go to small claims court as my nan was left devasted by the whole experience for several days. many thanks;
Is ther an Ombudsmen or Trade Body to interevene as ASDA dont care?
many thanks

You should get an apology from the store manager for the way that the staff treated her, and perhaps a small gift voucher as a gesture of goodwill.

Exactly what do you want compensation for though...
Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...
  • GET A LIFE, they probably thought they were laughing with your nan, not at her.

    why should they compensate you

Take your business elsewhere and forget about compensation.

They could have just made it as friendly banter you know , or was talking about something else.
If you didnt actually witness it yourself you cant really know what happened , and also a minority of elderly do tend to overreact just like my nan about some things :D

Compensation you have more chance of getting a rocking horse to crap to be honest.

Maybe ASDA have a policy that they don't reply to nutters?

    I smell a troll...
given the late time of the post, this couldn't be an AE of MrKringle could it?
  • Perhaps Morrisons or Tesco may be more understanding of your nans minor mistakes.

I should give them a go and see how your nan gets on.

If there is no joy, perhaps give her local corner shop a try.

If that is no better, get a home help-type person to do the shopping for her.

If all this fails, perhaps you could do your nans shopping for her.
  • Sorry OP, I don't quite understand this - did you pay for your nan to spend the weekend in Asda?

Would that be an all inclusive holiday then? All the booze and food, ready made curry that you can eat? Was it booked through holiday hypermarket.

I'm frequently confused and humiliated when I go out shopping.
