Hello and welcome.;)
Yes you can it makes no difference if you settled the loan or if still active.
You write to the ones who sold you the loan, and if the loan was taken out of your bank account, check your bank statements, if you have kept these over the last few years and the account number should be shown next to the monthly loan repayments.
Otherwise, give them a quick call and ask if they still have this handy.
There is a way to get info on your loans, by requesting a SAR, (subject access request), they have 40 days to comply, and must send everything they hold on you mainly going back as far as 6 years.
There is a SAR letter template for this request, but there is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment required for this request that you enclose in the SAR letter.

Post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.
You do normally have to write an account number on top of the SAR letter, but just give them your personal details, name address, DOB, if tis was a joint loan, and the year the loan was taken off and paid off etc.
Then for more on reclaiming here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find useful info and the guidelines of reclaiming, a checklist of mis selling reasons, reclaiming template letters and so on.
Again post by recorded delivery, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Please keep us posted, good luck and ask for help when required.;)

Hi jona
Personally I would be wary of these claims companies, as you will not receive all that is owed to you, where this way with help from the site and with paying for the posting of your letters to the banks, you get to keep all your ppi.
In regards of these claims companies, you can always check them out with the Ministry of justice (MOJ), its best to be very careful.;)
