hubby would also say that I spend £80 on my hair every other month and money on make-up every now and then whereas he is bald and as far as I know he doesn't wear make-up so really he is spending about the same amount just on beer and clothes.

OH is crap with money he does earn way more than me and yet we are both putting the same amount in the joint account, however he will pay for everything when we are out and it was hard enough getting him on board with the debt reduction anyway. I wish I could just get him to put all his money into the joint account and then I could give him appropriate amounts to spend for the week, but I don't think I would appreciate this if the shoe was on the other foot. I think I'm going to just have to put up with his babysteps at the moment, at least we are reducing the debt, I'm just inpatient and want it paid off now!
This is a similar arrangement to me, however, I pay much more in the joint account. Taking all his money and then giving him some back will never work, I mean it's his money at the end of the day and if the debt is joint, then repayments should really be joint. I know how impatient you feel, I'm exactly the same and want all my debt cleared (mine is my own, not shared though). But asking him to put more to it wont hurt, just don't suggest he pays all his wage in thereAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Thats right I'm sick of trying to bring up the subject of money all the time I feel like a real killjoy but it will be such a weight off our shoulders when it is all gone I can't wait.
Just a quick post today, I have an exam tomorrow so I really need to get and revise - spinal nerves - 31, which dermatome supplied by which nerve. Cranial nerves - sensory, motor or mixed - please let me absorb this information even if just for 24hrs never to be remembered again.

*Sings* 'Oh! The cranial nerve's connected to the spinal cord. The spinal cord's connected to the...everything...'
Hmm...needs work.
Best of luck with your revision! :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

woohoo exam done and dusted and came home to find hubby on the phone paying off one credit card and £200 off another, I am more than chuffed, I mentioned to him yesterday that the reason that we had done so much better at the start of last year was because we were paying off large sums of money out of our own accounts as well as the joint account, and he must have taken it on board, I am really pleased.
I have spent £5 today on coffee and a sandwich at uni as I was waiting to go into the exam which I am a bit gutted about! Never mind I think tomorrow we are going to spend a day in the garden rather than take the children anywhere, we need to do a couple of trips to the skip with some bits and bobs that have accumulated.
I think hubby has inspired me I am going to go and pay a bit off one of my cards now!

Well done, Emmie and Mr Emmie - and don't worry about the sandwich as when it comes to exams, needs must etc.
Take care and enjoy the sunshine (if it is sunny where you are). xPlease call me 'Pickle'

It is very sunny here thankyou pickle and I plan on enjoying it, I think I am going to mow the lawn when the children go to bed and do some general tidying up as a friend has just called and she is now coming over with her children tomorrow afternoon so I need to get it looking presentable.
I have just paid £550 off one debt (from joint account) and £100 of another (from my personal account), with our minimum payments that makes a grand total of £1075 due to hubbys overpayments, there may be a little bit more to pay off all being well by the end of the month, I just want to leave us a bit of a buffer for the rest of the month.
I know I need a new bikini and children need a UV suit each, I'm having my hair done tomorrow, so there are some expenses coming up.
I am so glad to be getting back on track, I wish I had stayed a bit more focused at the end of last year!

As for sharing the euromillions I think it would be lovely to share it around a bit I would love to hand over some cash to you and buy radish's house, you kind of get involved in people's problems here and it would be great to have the cash to do something about them.
