Friend need help with benefits she will get - Baby due in Nov

My friend is having a baby in Nov. She currently is working full time and has a good salary - but she is living on her own and going to be a single mother. She would like to have some idea of what she will be entitled to when the baby is born - She is planning on having 6 months off and then returning to work fulltime. she earns about £29k

thanks

on £29K, she'll be entitled to CTC of £547.50p/w family element + £547.50p/w baby element for the 1st yr and then dropping to £547.50 p/a after the 1st yr.

She'll also be able to claim Child Benefit, but most otehr benefits are unavailable on that level of income.

How is she paid whilst on maternity leave ?, does she get SMP only or do the employers pay her full wages ?

As the 6 months will fall in the same tax yr, then she effectively halves her income for 06/07 (as you ignore £100 of SMP when calcualting Tax cRedits) , so she may get more tax credits, best is to try https://www.entitledto.co.uk

CTC £547.50 per week? - is that right? she thought it was per month?

I remember those figures as per annum.

 It wont be per week. If single parents all got that we would all be rich. It's either per month or per year.

If it's any help a friend of mine is on maternity leave with 1 child and also single. She gets £96 per week in benefits including the child benefit.
