    Hi lazy&indebt,
I am in exactly the same position as you, and I have come to the conclusion that if he wants to spend it (and he can afford it) then let him, if he's like my OH he genuinely wants to help. He sounds very understanding, my ex-OH knew I couldn't afford things (I was a student at he was working) but still expected to go to expensive places and for me to pay half!

I think you should enjoy it, be thankful for it and look forward to the day you can do the same in return for him :)

Give him lots of hugs ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))), and snuggle. :)

We're in this strange funny world at the moment that believes 'money' is such an important thing. No reason to feel guilty at all.

Thank you everybody for the advice, much appreciated!

I know how lucky I am to be with someone who is that good with his money - if anything it kind of gave me a kick up the bum with my finances!

My dad is moving out to South Africa this year so our big treat will be flying out to see him for 2 weeks! Can't wait!

    Hi lazy&indebt,

It sounds to me as if you have a wonderful and generous boyfriend who actually enjoys spending his money on you. And it sounds as if he is lucky to have a lovely partner (ie you!) who doesn't take him or his money for granted, and who really appreciates him!

There are poeple out there who 'sponge', or who take their partners generosity for granted, but you certainly don't sound like one of them.

My partner pays more than his fair share, and treats me whenever i'm short of money, as he knows i'm working hard to pay off my own debts. I show him my appreciation by making him home-cooked dinners, and baking his favourite cakes etc.. when i have time. We're both really happy - which is the most important thing.

    Take care.

Don't let arguing over debt loose you what sounds like a lovely guy. If he wants to treat you and isn't getting in debt to do so, then let him.
