hey
im kinda confused now
I have just completed an HND and I am transfering to the final year of the main stream degree (NOT a top up degree).
anyway, as an existing student i was told by my current college that i would only be liable for hte current fees, 1200£ish
but then this mornign on the phone to the new uni they thought, but were not sure, that i would be paying £3k!
can anyone shed any light on this, as this has just taken the edge off me getting good results

Can't help directly, except to say that whatever the fees are, you should be able to get a fee loan for them rather than having to pay them up front. I'm basing this on DS1 telling me that although we had to pay upfront this year (ie starting autumn 2005, his first), he can get a fee loan for next year.Signature removed for peace of mind0

As it is not a top up degree I belive you would be considered a new student and therefore be assessed for up to a 3K fee as it's a different course and not a top up course to the one you've completed.
You will be able to get the tutiton fee loan. Also you'll be able to apply for a maintanance grant which is not available to continuing students as far as I'm aware.Current Mortgage - £156,633:eek:Expecting baby no. one on 27th Oct 20100 -

If you dont qualify for the maintanance grant you can apply for the maintanance loan.0 -
blimey, the system really does suck doesnt it, id be well happy for my taxes to go to educating uni students. I also think less people should go to Uni - its not for everyone. Given the % of people who dont get 5 A to C GCSEs is it really realistic to expect 50% of people to go on to Uni. Crazy imo.Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
