Buying digital camera

I am getting a digital camera for christmas but have no idea which one to choose. I am looking to spend around £100 but could maybe go a bit higher. Any suggestions?

Nikon Coolpix S70, set the camera up to take a picture by touching the screen.

What do you want to do with it?
Take lots of pretty outdoor pictures?
Lots of party pics?
Pictures of people?

Try and think what you will use it for and it will help when you read the reviews

mainly for taking photos of people and taking pictures of things while on holiday etc. I will look at the those ones.

The only thing you can criticise the Canon I posted about is it's only 3x zoom if that bothers you. Otherwise it takes superb photos.

btw if you buy a camera that uses AA batteries make sure you get some Sanyo Eneloop rechargables from 7dayshop.com
