My daughter shall be turning 2 very soon. Weve been attending mums and tots groups and she loves them. The person who runs then also runs a playgroup and when daughters 2 she could go for 2 afternoons a week.
Child tax credits mucked our payments up so were only getting a tiny amount from them so money is really tight.
I know funding is available for 3 year olds but how about 2 year olds? Im in Leicester if this helps.
Any amount big or small would help. All of her little friends start there after there 2 and I really do think that shes benefit from going

Goverment funding is only available for children aged 3 and above for up to 5, two and a half hour sessions per week.
You may be able to get a little help from tax credits childcare element depending on your circumstances etc.
and the playgroup would have to be ofsted and properly registered.
I would give tax credits a call and ask about the childcare element, you may get some luck.
Unfortuantely i live down south so cant give any advice on local funding or anything. I know wat you mean tho, my little boy was two last week and i would love to put him in a nursery for a few sessions. Its just finding somewhere that will take him on for a couple of hours twice a week! nightmare!
Hope this helps and good luck xx:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
With regards to local funding, try your local surestart co-ordinator, they may be able to help.
Good luck x0 -
My area is trialing funding for x amount of 2 year olds. The children will be from disadvantaged backgrounds and on the recommendation of the HV.
If you work at least 16 hours a week as a single parent or both work at least 16 hours a week if a couple you may get help with childcare costs of upto 80%, regardless of age. Take a look at www.entitled.co.uk
Other than that childrn get funding term after their 3rd birthday. My DD turned 3 in March and started with the funding in May .0
