Immersion heater display - help

Just gone to switch the immersion wotsit on for the kids bath, and the lcd/digital display has gone, umm, funky,

Its showing EVERYTHING, the on/off/timer etc, its all on, and I cant get me hot water on! ( usually if I press one of the buttons twice it does a big click, and I know that the hot waters off ) and its not responding to any of the button presses.

Any ideas anyone ? any one had this ? would it be as simple as changing the battery in it, or was it a bigger problem ?

Many Thanks x

Would help if you gave the make and model of the controller...what does the manual say?
Are you talking about a CH controller, as an immersion heater doesn't usually have an LCD display?
Have you tried turning the immersion circuit off, wait a couple of minutes, then switch it back on to see if it resets?

Immersions dont ? Blimey what hot water heating do I have then :rotfl:

ok what type does have a lcd display, might help with me googling!

I've only ever known of 2 types, immersion, and make the gas wotsit come on and fire up to get hot water.

Theres no brand name on/in it I can see, No manual, and I only know how to press one button, hot water on/off

    I'm not very helpful am I ?

Do you have gas/oil CH and a boiler?-if so your hot water should be supplied by this, not by an immersion heater (though immersions are sometimes fitted as as a backup).
Must have some sort of branding on it. Try posting a picture.
Does it control the hot water, or the CH as well?

I think it just controls the hot water, I know it eats up the leccy when on. so its not gas/oil,
I have warm air heating, thats gas.

Ok... so I made it come on.. I cant get it to switch off now!! eeks! Bloody thing!
