Problems Using AMEX on M&S.com

Anyone had any problems with this? I put an order in yesterday and had an email today saying the payment couldn't be processed.

Phoned AMEX, the guy immediately knew the problem, said it had been going on for a couple of weeks with M&S.com. It's to do with the fact that there is nowhere on the website to enter the 4 digit security number from the front of your AMEX card so the transaction fails.

Phoned M&S and customer services immediately knew the reason - because I had used an AMEX card. Same reason given - nowhere in their system to enter the security code, that they are "working on it" and did I have another payment method?

I got a bit hacked off at this point as I specifically wanted to use my AMEX to get the 5% cashback on the transaction. The guy spoke to his supervisor and they said they would re-try the transaction today, so will see what happens but I'm not holding out much hope.

Pretty shoddy of M&S.com to still have AMEX as a payment option when there is a known problem.
