I would suggest matalan too. OR believe it or not, Poundstretcher had a few nice pairs in, non button, high waist. Tshirt material pjs. Biggest size they had was 16-18 though, although they fitted my friend well who is an 18.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

thanks - I'll def try to get to a primark this week
I've been told that Matalan ones tend to be "short seamed" which is a shame ... maybe I need to take a ruler with me

I'm with your gift-receiver. I hate the low rise trousers that are around at the mo, BUT, I just got some lovely pj's from Matalan fairly cheaply. They have a lovely wide waistband (v comfy) and a t-shirt top. Best of all, there's a matching short fluffy, hooded jacket which is lovely and warm and makes the whole outfit nice enough to wear as lounge wear rather than just in bed.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

Just to add my two cents, I would also try BHS. I am of the cuddly variety and love my PJ bottoms from there (cotton jersey, big, baggy, comfy!). I would find out if your friend wants cotton jersey ones or just cotton...just coz I would never want just cotton ones (limits your movement!).0
