                    Hey all = )
I sold a bundle of playstation 2 games on the 29th of December and sent them out the very next day first class, I never heard anything more from it until the buyer filed a paypal claim saying he'd not received the item. Now he didn't make any effort to contact me, or even leave a single note on the dispute, I replied right away and still heard nothing back. After he won the item I had to ask for the postage charges because he didn't allow me time to send an invoice, so personally I think he received the item and is just trying to get abit of cashback, where do I stand with this???
I know there's a chance i'm wrong, so I phoned the Royal Mail but they've been no help at all, saying I should just make a claim for the missing items when it's past 15 days!!

I take it you mean posted 29th November?
Did you just post standard 1st class or 1st class recorded?
As if you have no evidence of a signature on delivery then unfortunately you will loose out as you're unable to prove the item was delivered, so the buyer will win the case. The buyer doesn't need to reply to the dispute they have filed, they'll probably just leave it to run its course, knowing they will win.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160

Yes, Playstation 2 games do require free postage. SOURCE
If the OP did ask for postage costs to be added on afterwards then the buyer may have got a bit annoyed and put in a claim out of spite. Obviously they are wrong to make a false claim.
However as you sent non-recorded there is nothing you can do apart from accept the item not received claim and refund. That's just how Paypal works.0

If your trying to add P&P to a free P&P section I think you got what you deserve. If people spent as much time on there listings as they did trying to get around the rules they would make more money anyway0

Rather than the constant 'jumping on the OP' that seems to prevail around here, why not think of the alternative?
OP said he sold a 'bundle' of games, thus if he listed in the wholesale category, P & P can be charged.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0

That's a fair point, but considering he had to invoice the buyer to take postage into account, I think it's safe to assume that this bundle was not listed in the Wholesale category.adammccance wrote: »Rather than the constant 'jumping on the OP' that seems to prevail around here, why not think of the alternative?

Why not add it to the listing then, instead of muck about with invoices after the auction ended? My TV is broken!

HI I am not jumping on the OP here just offering advise for the future I agree with
But consider this most good and reliable buyers will not bid on an item with extra P&P in the description as they will either add this on to the auction price or be very wary of waiting for invoices before paying as they will watch the auction then want to pay straight after winning like they always do, please note I said the good and reliable buyers not all buyers.adammccance

This only leaves unreliable chancers to bid on your items and these buyers know that you broke the rules in the first place in your listing so they will be even more likely to try something on than usual.
This is what I think has happened here a chancer has bought your item and now knows whatever way this goes you are in the wrong as well with your listing so you will not cause as much fuss about what they have done as a seller who has not broke any of ebays rules.
I have to say for the record I do not and never will agree with buyers like this who try to get things for nothing by ripping people off but these people exist and try to do this all the time to sellers on ebay so it is best not to give them a helping hand by breaking the rules first yourself.0

But I very much doubt that was the case as why invoice them after for the postage. If he had listed them in that category the postage would have in all liklihood been listed and not needed an invoice. So yes I did think of the alternatives.
So other than jumping on me maybe consider that we have already considered the alternatives and that they are unlikely0

Thanks to the people that actually gave me some advice on the matter and not those who just criticised me for charging postage in a category that states free P&P has to be given, the reason I charge P&P is because it was a bundle of 4 games and was listed in the Job Lot and Playstation 2 game categories, and as I placed it in the second category Ebay made me state the item had free P&P.
But my listing clearly stated the P&P charge within the items description, so how have I broken any rules doing this???0
