As much as the message was rude. Why did you feel the need to tell us this?

Same reason you decided to post, I guess. Part and parcel of this wonderful site that allows us to share our experiences on shopping sites. :rotfl:

I think cyberbob was refering to the last paragraph.

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.
  • To be honest if there is an item you want listed on another ebay site but not available to the UK, why not make a polite enquiry? The seller might well be willing to post to the Uk as a one-off particularly if they dont have any other bids.

Dont think it would have hurt for OP to have responded either.

    Because I would

1 - offer it outside the UK if I wanted to in the original listing or
2 - if no sale/interest amend the listing to allow for it

I hope you didnt respond. From what I can gather from a recent message that ebay sent me following a duff transaction there are people sending messages to try and get you to respond so they can get your e-mail address. Ebay specifically told me not to reply in these circumstances as these people have been tapping into user accounts (someone bought an item from me using someone elses account which is how this all came about)

Are we safe from this if we always reply through our Ebay messaging service and not through our email? Seems like a silly question but I had no idea people were doing this!

Was via ebay messaging service but now turns out that the person sending me a message had actually bid and won one of my items but was using someone elses account to do it (I didnt realise as was still investigating why the item had disappeared from my sale list) It therefore might be ok if they are only messaging and havent actually won anything but still not really too sure.
