What is and isn't allowed in the discussion section? I know "the girl" and a certain religion is frowned upon bit what else? I don't mind following MSE rules but deleted posts and locked threads are starting to confuse me.
Maybe it would be better if the section was deleted all together as it's not moneysaving and moderated in a non specific way:confused:

Do you mean in addition to the terms & conditions of the entire site and the usual forum rules?

Additional rules specific to that sub-forum are given as stickys within that sub-forum. :)

May be if a thread has too many reports they choose to delete it? If this is related to the thread you started on DT, once accusations of being racism start flying around, it's likely to be reported. Sometimes it helps to find posts in better faith and highlight what's worth discussing and downplay the unappealing content because there's the possiblity that sometimes the views are expressed or interpreted incorrectly than a case of actually intended to be racist. To insist on finding posts in bad faith is also reflection of hate and bitterness that is accused of other imo (based on what I made out of that thread).

I think it is spelled out pretty clearly here:

But in case of any doubts about reasons not being given:

Decisions are not explained deliberately. Often threads are deleted without explanation. This is based on legal advice. If we start 'accusing' people of things, eg spamming, being racist, being abusive, being wrong etc then we are open to legal challenge and therefore we are advised to delete without blame - often things are deleted simply because we dont have the resources to manage it properly.

On that note, have you had a lot of deleted posts? I'm not having a go but just noticed this..... :p

    Your details show the following:
    Post Count: 1,885
Thanked 30,767 Times in 2,820 Posts

Which to me reads as though you've made 1,885 posts ok?

BUT - you've been thanked 30,767 times in 2,820 posts so to me that suggests (bearing in mind your true post count is 1,885) you've been thanked in posts that you haven't even made yet - or that you've had a staggering 935 posts deleted?

Surely the actual post count should always be higher than the thanked in XX posts? No? lol

Am confused - anyone help :D

What does that mean? I didn't have ANY thread ended so enough spurious allegations as it's not true.
I'm a good poster on the whole who sticks to the rules. If a thread was closed because of me then an MSE staff member should have told me/sent a warning. Unless you are a mod and have decided to tell me in public.

To be fair I was on that thread as well and we were all having a session of wind ups, no one particular person was to blame - I think it was closed because of the sarcasm and the way the thread was going....

I agree it is not fair to blame you - I was as bad (IIRC)... :p:p

Hey, we all have our trolling days don't we lol :D
