phone calls

i went br last month and haven't spoken to my creditors as the OR said they would. my creditors don't have my home phone number but OH has just told me MBNA rang on the home number last week asking for me.

hardly anyone except friends and family have this number, and they wouldn't have given it out, is there a way they could have obtained this elsewhere? just curious how the heck they've got it!

However they have got your number just remember that they should not be chasing you for this debt anymore.

Now it maybe that they have not updated their records yet so if they call then supply them with your BR number & don`t get into conversation. If they seem to be harrassing then refer the matter to your OR to deal with.

Who knows they may have been calling to wish you well? ...maybe not!!:rolleyes:

ha ha Angie i didn't consider if it was a social call

if they call again i will give them my number and end the call, i'm not up for a discussion about it!

it's just puzzling me how they got it! i guess they have their ways and means....

I am also Ex directory infact its my fathers phone as i moved in to care for him. i was also contacted by a creditor by phone and flabbergasted they had the phone number.

I eventually found out a catalogue company i was using was part of a group in which was one of my creditors.

Definately ways and means, as idiots out here in the big bad world many of us don't relise that such and such is owned by this big wig or that is in cahoots with that.. privacy policy - pah!

When they phone inform them that you are recording the call, once you tell them you are BR if they continue to harrass you they can get into trouble and you have it recorded

I've been telling a company for a month that I am BR - they keep phoning me at work so now the whole office knows
Each time they phone I've explained that all the calls are recorded on my work phone and if they phone again this will be harrsment. The last time they phoned my big manager was at my desk and I just didn't want to answer it.
But he answered the phone for me they told him what they wanted - SO WRONG
and my boss nicely ask them for they head office address as he wanted to sent the recording of me keep telling them I am BR and asking them not to phone me at work

They put the phone down on him, not heard from them since - Point is only 1 in 10 calls are recorded so might not even have the recording to send anyway

ouch that is awful....good on your boss for helping like that...

I told them I was BRK asked them not to phone me
One of the times they phone me she told me she was going to write to me and charge me £10.00 on the debt

Figures crossed its only been a week
didn't tell you did I - I've been asking the Abbey to reposs my house for months
now they are taking me to court on 24/12/09 (yes CHRISTMAS EVE) to ask the judge to reposses the house.
I've wrote the judge a nice letter saying sorry I can't make it but can't have any more unpaid leave as can't afford it but I've not lived there for 5 months and I've been asking them since the 17/07/09 to take it.
I've even put in the letter who I spoke to dates and times.
Then I wished the Judge a happy Christmas.

when I took the letter to the courts and it was the same chap I was saw when I went BR he was lovely and he had a little giggle at my letter.
