Windows media player burning problems

I am trying to burn CD's with WMP 10. I have created a playlist and when I try to burn to CD it burns one or 2 tracks then stops.
Error messages include, try different blank cd's, try a slower speed burn, clean cd.
tried em all but it still does it... any solutions?

I would be tempted to get another cd burner/player. Can I transfer my WMP library onto it?

Download a copy of Nero as a trial edition.

SVP sell it cheap (under a tenner)

Media Player doesn't do a very good job (IMHO) of burning CD's.

Thanks, I have now tried a new program called easy cd creator 5, only because a friend gave it to me. It's pretty good, but the cd Still stops mid burn and wastes the disc.
Must be a problem with the burner or something interupting the flow of informaton.
I have disabled the screen saver, tried a defrag, etc.
Any other ideas???????????

sounds like the recorder is duff , or the cds.

Try another brand of disc, otherwise I suspect the laser diode has failed. (How old is the drive?)

Tried different discs, One did a complete burn. The machine is only 18 months old or elss and has not done much work. Things changed when I downloaded WM10, perhaps a new driver?
