Thankfully my banks fraud department flagged this up and it has been caught in time. Monies refunded and card cancelled now thank god.
I very rarely use my cc (last time was March) and I used it last week to purchase a laptop from a very reputable computer company. I dealt with an advisor who took the order and payment details over the phone.
Was that a wise thing to do? I thought it might have been a safer option? And could it just be a coincidence?? Should I be informing this company too but I dont want to sound like I may be pointing the finger at anyone.
Fraud team told me it has been used over the past few days for iphone apps etc, is this not traceable?

I think you should name the company so we can all be aware of this. It's could be the agent that took the details that are dodgy so you should report this to the company concerned and possibly the police if you have not used the card since march. I assume that the transactions now are done without the PIN?0
