Travel Insurance

Hi
Been looking at old threads and theres not many on travel insurance. We have booked holiday today for next year. Thomas Cook quoted us about £167 for the trip, we have to have a family one for 3 of us and a seperate one for my 18 year old.

Can anyone recommend which insurance companies are good for travel. We are going to the Dominican :j

Thanks in advance
Jo

Is your 18 year old son / daughter still in full time education?

There are a few Travel Insurers that will rate your 18 year old as a child if they are still in full time education (Some go up to 21 and some go as far as 23).

This could save you some money as it will avoid buying seperate cover for him, if you buy one with him on your policy it would be worth checking to see if they will cover him to travel seperately from you as no doubt he may want to go on a holiday at some point with the lads
  • Flexicover.co.uk quote £137 for ANNUAL WORLDWIDE multi-trip cover for the three of you. I couldn't have a look for your single trip, as I don't know how long you're going for ;) I also have a 15% discount code somewhere, I think (PM me if there isn't one on the boards!) and you can get Quidco. I always use Flexicover, but have never had to make a claim with them.

After trying a few we now use LV=. One reason being their policy documentation is very clear - especially in regards the activities you are covered for.

insureandgo are also very clear in what activities are covered. I have never made a claim though so don't know what they are like when/if you do.
