replacing downlight with pendant fitting

Hello I am about to replace a bank of 3 closley located downlights (25 yrs old!) with a single pendant light. I have got a new ceiling rose etc for the pendant light - is it simply a case of removing the wires from one of the downlights, attaching to the the new ceiling rose, and cutting and terminating the wires to the other two downlights?

not that simple. if you choose the middle one, and cut any wires inside the the two other junctions, the middle one may not work.
(apart from the actual lamp wires). (red/black?).
take it slowly and test for correct operation, before final cutting of anything.Get some gorm.0 -
yes, i am hoping it will be clear to see which is the primary light and which of the other 2 are spurred of it.0

Until you have established which is the primary light for certain, do not cut any of the other wires. Seems obvious, but not making a sketch of the existing wiring is an ongoing theme in this forum.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
