Condensation in the attic. Any ideas?

Hiya.

Wondering if anyone can help me.
Since getting the christmas decs downs last weekend, Noticed that there is water droplets all over the roof, more so to one side of the room but still all over it.
We had the roof space isulated with masses of insulation in october, on a council grant... but some we have rolled back, where we have boards down to keep stuff.
Im not sure if this is what has caused the problems?
Im not sure if this happened before the insulation was put down, as we got the house this summer....
There seems to be quiet a bit of wildlife in our attic such as spiders, old wasps nest, and signs of mice, so surely if theres that much living up there, there should be good ventillation?
Any ideas on what to do? how to dry it out? or whats caused it would be great. THANKS:p

You need to get ventilation Tiles or Slates fitted.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
  • this something i have noticed for the first time ever. I live in a bungalow and have noticed droplets of water around the roof line in a few rooms round the house. Is it caused by bad ventilation. Ive never noticed it before but was on the stay warm scheme and so had the heating on much more then, then i do now

ive got the same problem "previous posts" i also insulated 2 months ago. and funnily enough ive had a roofer around today. the north facing side of the house was the worst.
im having 4 double roman vented roof tiles fitted on tuesday, 2 on each side of the roof.
the tiles are £30 each and im being charged a total of £170 for them including fitting, so £50 labour fee to fit them. im not being ripped off on the vented tiles as ive priced them up at the builders merchants.
do your upstairs windows condensate up?? because mine do. but ive had a dehumidifier up in the loft for a few days as the damp was quite bad and believe it or not the windows havent condensated up / could be a coincidence but its strange??

i think you should get 2 or 4 roof tile vents fitted, make sure the new insulation isnt blocking the air vents in the loft, and maybe stick a dehumidifier up there for a few days "untill you have some vents fitted"

p.s if you insulate you must ventilate, the roofs got to breath.

also, could someone explain why we get condensation in the loft when we put extra loft insulation in?
as stated ive left all air vents well clear of new insulation, so why do i now get condensation.
