parking fine for leaving site

Hi,

I have just received a parking fine from ukpc (sorry a civil traffic enforcement notice) as when I parked outside a shop in a small car park - i nipped over to run a couple of errands in the next group of shops about 100m away. I saw thew sign saying customer only parking, but firstly as it was lunchtime, and the car park was empty, and as I actully bought something from the shop, I think this could be stated to be a little unfair. I also assumed that the site covered the whole area.

I am not sure whether to appeal, just pay, or just ignore. Advice please?

cheers - was starting to get worried - its crazy - there are no public toilets on site, and no cashpoints. There are compeitor shops nearby but you arent allowed to walk to them, you are supposed to drive the 50m to the other car park

It's a scam. They don't care about any of that stuff - they just want to give out as many fake toytown tickets as possible.
