Copying iTunes to new PC

Hi All,

Not had much luck looking this up so any support would be appreciated.

I have all my itunes on my old PC. None of these are purchased online, they are all from my CD collection.

I now have a new PC and was wondering how to copy all of these across whilst maintaining my album artwork.

Not bothered about ratings, playlists etc, its just the music in the right folders and the correct album covers.

I am currently using itunes 9.0.0.70 with an ipod touch.

Also, please note, I am happy to change my product, ie, happy to use different music software instead of itunes, but it has to be able to detect and display my artwork with the albums.

It will be nice to have something that may work with other devices such as blackberry or Android, so I am not traped with itunes, should i wish to change in the future.

Thanks for that. Would you however say I stick with iTunes, or should i try something else so I am not locked in? Is there anything better? Some people have recommended Media monkey, but not sure about migratiing and the implications.

unless you have a ipod touch running firmware 1 or 2, then you will be locked into using itunes due to the encryption methods that apple uses for the iphone/touch.
