Help - Magazine Subscription but different to those on shelves in Newsagents

Can someone please advise me what my rights and what I should do next.

I used to buy Mens Health magazine occasionally from the shop. They quite often have supplements when bought in the shops. Sometimes these have attracted me to buy the mag. My wife thought it would be nice to get me a subscription to it. Since then each mag I have received in the post has had no supplementary free gifts. This months mag in the shops has a book (noted as value £12).

When I phoned National Magazine Company, they advised me they do not send out the supplements with subscribed mags due to postage costs, and that was clear in the terms and conditions my wife received. When I stated that it wasn't in there or even identified on their website when ordering the subscription (which they concurred with) they offered to send me something that clarifies this, which is a bit late.

I requested they supply me with the same as on offer in the shops but they have refused this.

Can someone please explain my rights on this, what recourse I have and what can I do.

Thanks for your help, I'm fuming over this and would not recommend subscriptions by this company. Their customer service is appalling :mad:

I forgot to mention, there is no way of finding a contact email to make a complaint on the Mens Health website or the website you follow to make a subscription. Very frustrating .............. try it for fun

Well spotted sir. A lesson learnt there.

I had subscribed to another magazine before and what was on the shelf was the same as in the post.

Oh well. I will make sure I will not subscribe to anything in future.
