I'm ok, trying not to feel nervous really. Am keeping busy organising the drinks and food catering for the opening on friday night, setting up my website and trying to tidy my house for my parents and grandparents coming to stay :rotfl:

I'm mostly just excited about the night now, with all the VIPs coming to see the show, getting all dressed up and having a good time :cool: , I do feel nervous every now and again but there's nothing more I can do The staff are going round tomorrow to discuss all the work, compare the grades they've given and finalise everyone's mark. Then the external moderator comes on thursday and checks what they've done. But I still think I won't find out until july. Kinda hope they don't spring it on us this friday though, wouldn't like it to ruin the night if I'm disappointed (as far as I know I'm hovering just around a grade boundary which makes it more nerve-wracking!!!).

But on the positive side, one of my tutors gave me some praise today! She said she'd been impressed by my work on the wall (which she prob wasn't supposed to say :rolleyes: ) and she gave me the contact details of a gallery owner who she said would be interested in my work :eek: Nothing might come of it but that's a really nice vote of confidence cos I know she wouldn't put her own reputation with him at risk if she thought I wasn't good enough, if you see what I mean

Apologies for rambling on (nothing new there :rolleyes: ) and even more apologies for the completely non-moneysaving nature of said rambling :rotfl:

I'm still busy with one thing and another, hasn't really sunk in that its tonight yet I am looking forward to it though, it will be great to have a chance to relax and enjoy myself

I found out yesterday that there will be people from some big companies there (invited by our sponsor), First Direct is the only one I can remember. Its good though, because those are the kind of people who raise the profile of the exhibition and are more likely to buy the work :rotfl:

Anyway, must dash, lots still to do!

Hey hey! Thought a quick update was in order

The opening last night went very well I still don't know what grade I've got (or when I'll find out, grrrr!) but to be honest I'm not too bothered. I had so many nice comments last night and am really pleased with how it went so the grade doesn't seem so important, you know?!

The professor of my department took me to one side and said that he really liked my work and that if I ever wanted a reference or any advice I knew where to find him! He's a very well known and respected photographer and he doesn't give compliments often so that was special for me :j Also, the senior lecturer showed the VIPs around and asked me to tell them about my work. I said a couple of things but got a bit stuck and he took over, he said some really interesting stuff about my work which was nice

There were people who didn't even stop to look or who just said 'I don't get it' and walked on but there'll always be some :rolleyes:

Hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging, just had a really good night and feels nice to tell someone (or many!!)

The guy who designed our site has made it look great but it got so busy once we announced the address that it exceeded its bandwidth limit with the hosting company and kept crashing :rolleyes: There are still some glitches so I'll hold off giving you the address! Besides which, there's a really embarrassing picture of me on the site and I dunno if I want you all to see it! :rotfl:
