British Gas Essentials - Cheque for £20

I am on Essentials for my electricity and have received a letter from BG with cheque for £20, to help with the winter bills. Has anyone else received an extra payment?

A few years ago they gave you a £30 credit. (Or was it two credits of £30?) So that looks like a significant decrease in real terms. But I can't remember what the qualifying criteria were for those payments.

Thanks, I didn't know they did this. It's nice when you get something you weren't expecting.

Nothing here been with BG essential traffic since Sept 2008 and got nothing last year or so far this year

I did get a smart meter from them yesterday 2nd one I got now from them

All Essential customers are being sent the £20 as an extra for this year. The letters have just started to go out so will probably take a few weeks to filter through to everyone.
