ESA Work Related Group

Hi just looking for some quick info

Just recived the letter today saying ive been placed in ESA work related group, and will receive a separate letter explaining new rates, which i aint received yet

Looking at the Jobcentre website, ive found this
Single person: Up to £89.80

Anyone know what this 'Up to' is based on or how much im looking at getting (im 22/single)?

Also, I was told by someone at the jobcentre who i went for an interview with earlyer on in the claim that payments (if i passed the medical) would be backdated to the date I went for the medical, however I cant find any infomation about this anywhere, anyone know what the crack is?

Also the medical was delayed (by the company doing the medical double booking and rebooking my appointmnent 4 weeks later not me) Im at around week 23 of my claim now, due to the first medical being delayed by a month and then taking 6 weeks for the decision, So if i was to get anything backdated would it be from week 13 of my claim, or from the date i went for the medical or the date of the original medical that was moved or what?

Any infomation would be great. thanks

You will receive an extra £25.50 per week.

This will be backdated to the start of the 14th week of your entitlement.

You get a higher assessment phase amount if you are over 25, that is where the higher figure comes from.

Your backdated money should be paid automatically as a separate payment.

I would think weeks rather than months but I do not know the timescales they work to.

Sorry I do not know but I expect it varies from area to area how long it takes.

If it looks like a computer generated letter (Vague generalisms rather than specific to you) then I would say the decision has already been input to the system and your arrears will be paid with next normal payment.

They are hopeless they really are, Friday I was due to be paid, However my sick note ran out the same day, so I had to ring them to give them details of my new sick note, before my payment was put through, the next day (yesterday) I got a letter dated 9/12 saying that I've passed the medical so I no longer need to send a sick note in

Yea, that what I would have thought, however as Ive said above, The letter is dated before my latest payment so who knows, Luckily my illness is a short term thing that all being well should be 100% gone within 6 months or so, I'd hate to be properly long term ill or disabled and have to deal with these idiots on a regular basis.

Guess ill be spending sometime on hold waiting to get some answers tomro ;)

Well, if that is your attitude towards the staff then I have little sympathy, they didnt design the system or make the rules. Most of the training isnt 'fit for purpose' either.
