hi all!
i sent first template letter to barclays last 2/11. they replied by saying they will look into it, thats fine. they sent me a questionaire but didnt sent it back since i wasnt comfortable ansewring it. today, i received a second letter from barclays that saying they need to contact various areas of the bank (why so?? 8weeks is not enough?) to gather further information to resolve my complaint as quickly as they can and will contact me again by 7 jan 2010!
why is this so??
should i write them back to inform that i have been off work for the last 6 months and need that money?

Asking branch for copies of paperwork (or warehouse where they may now be stored), then interviews with the staff involved (may be on holiday etc) can all add to timescale. Also, the overall complaints load will have an impact. PPI complaints are high at the moment and that is causing delays that mean many cannot deal within the normal timescale. The FSA allow 8 weeks. They appear to be complying with that.
Also, by you not answering the questions they have asked, they will have to go on what they have which may take longer than had you answered the questions.should i write them back to inform that i have been off work for the last 6 months and need that money?
It wouldnt make any difference. You are assuming they will pay out. They will not be making that assumption. They are not asking for an extension either.
If you are off work, why havent you put a claim in on the policy?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. PPI claim is from 2003. loan has long been finished.
i was hoping that whatever the result will somehow help me especially with holidays approaching but i guess not...i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -
You complained on 2nd November. They have 8 weeks. Give them a week to acknowledge and 8 weeks from that is first week of Jan.thats more than 8 weeks...PPI claim is from 2003. loan has long been finished.
No wonder they wanted details from you. There is a good chance the documents have been destroyed for this one. It also explains why it will take longer than a more recent one.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
