I just receive an email from this company "ASCENTIVE" notifiying me of my annual subscription to ActiveSpeed software!!!!. and automatic annual renewal of $29.99.
I have never subscribed to this company or software and never heard about them until today.
I googled the name and discovered the software is for speeding up internet connection, i have virgin cable BB on 10meg speed using a new Vista P.C and laptop on XP.
I really never had any need for this software as my internet connection is always about 7meg and my computers are less than 2 yrs old.
My fear is that this company has my name and email address, i don't know if someone have used my details to subscribe to this.
There is option to unsubscribe on the email but i want to know if this is a trick to get people subscribe rather than unsubscribe.

Though the vision may not be the true future of man but it can't be completely beyond his control.

I'd just delete and ignore the email.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

I've had the same mail today. As basmic said ignore it. If your eply they then know you're email addres is a valid one and will send even more junk.
Curiously I'm on Virgin too, wonder if they're spamming every virgin mail address. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
