I think this is what makes these text loans so bad, in my opinion they are feeding on either desperation or addiction (or both).

As you say, it makes sense to wait a week to buy something, which most people probably would. But if you are totally desperate or you have an addiction (i.e. gambling, alcohol) and need a fix.....

Ashamed to admit, I have had several of these....I paid them off always, but I always used them to counteract the deductions from Halifax account in bank charges-£35 for going over my overdraft, plus £70 for staying over my overdraft for more than 24 hours-once I was charged £105 as one charge. My own fault , but when you only get £700 per month, you feel that kind of deduction. I used them for food shopping usually.....another bad habit

Luckily I didnt have one at the time of BR, but I used them regularly before

I certainly did that Bat. Pizza places were the best because cheques you paid to them always to 10-14 days to clear so we would order enough pizza to last us 2 nights knowing that we'd be paid before the cheque cleared. Sadly, they don't take cheques anymore. :rolleyes:
