Egg Card Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance

I have had an annual family multi trip travel insurance policy through Egg for the last 3 or 4 years, the annual cost has always been 39.99, and underwritten by AXA. I had cause to use it 3 years ago when we went skiing and the service from AXA was first class, I mean really good. The policy included 17 days winter sports cover automatically at no extra cost.
This year Egg have changed the insurer and the policies are now underwritten by ACE. I called ACE since it wasn't clear that winter sports cover was included, it wasn't and to add it back in would make the annual premium over 80 quid, more than double the previous charge.
So my message is for those who have this policy, be aware that winter sports cover is not automatically included for the ACE policies. I took out a policy through essentialtravel.co.uk for 63.98, again annual family multi trip with winter sports included underwritten by AXA.

We have our company business travel insurance with ACE which also includes employee holidays.
I've claimed off it twice for personal holidays and they have been great.
So for people who don't do winter sports, then this is a recommendation for ACE although of course your personal policy may not be an extensive as our business one, so make sure you check levels of cover.
Well done for spotting it in advance wolftastic :T
Lots of people don't read their policies and only discouver problems when it's too late.0
