i currently have a hitachi plasma which is connected to my sky plus via S Video leads as well as a DVD running via composite leads i am thinking of instaling a new LCD tv in my bedroom and utilising an AV sender.
could you please advise how this could connect up to my current setup and if there would be any loss in quality in either my current tv or the new one?
any advise???

Hi
I use a product from these people
www.digisender.net
and it is very good. You might need to connect your TV with SCART to make it work though. The site should explain all.0 -
When you have got your AV sender up and running you might just run into problems with your car's central locking.
The frequncy used by AV senders is close to that used by central locking systems and can jam them.
So if you're in the drive and cannot unlock the car try switching the sender off! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Not so sure about that one
EU law gave car "blippers" a frequency of 430Mhz (or something like that).
My digisender uses the 2.4ghz range, which is similar to a wireless network (supposedly the first 4 channels of it). So if anything, make sure your wireless network and digisender are set to very different channels. I think a gap of at least five channels is recommended.0 -
I can't imagine you'll be able to tune your TV to 2.4GHz
more like 470MHz - 847MHz0 -
Thats what I thought fguk, but jam my Cl it did. I think the AV sender in question was transmitting at 866Mhz or so ie twice the blipper, maybe the car was picking up a subharmonic.
mcfisco, 2.4 Ghz is quite possible, the AV sender's receiver demodulates the RF signal and then feeds in to the TV via a scart connection. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Ar... Ok - so some sort of receiver is needed for each TV then?0

i used one a while back and the reception quality was terrible. If you have an LCD, you'll prob. notice it even more.
Personally if I were you, I'd use the money and put it towards getting a proper extension installed in the bedroom.0 -
we use
http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/catalog/product.jsp?language=en&country=GB&catalogType=CONSUMER&productId=SBCVL1400_05_GB_CONSUMER
we have the Sky+, DVD, and Freeview box set up into this device..
and use it for sending all of the above around the house.
The good thing, is that kids can watch a dvd in the living room, we can watch sky in the dining room.. or visa versa.. any cobination of the 4 inputs can be sent or viewed depending on your needs.
oh and you get full remote control, and remote switching of inputs..The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…
