PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. A number of discussions here have mentioned https://www.housepricecrash.co.uk and the posts made on their forums. It now looks like they've all debunked to https://www.globalhousepricecrash.com Apparently the original houspricecrash.co.uk was sold and now contains a great deal of advertising and in turn a load of grief. That's why MSE is so good, we have a site provided free with no bloody advertising!

I would keep an eye on both sites for a while.
But I think "Global House Price Crash" will eventually become the bigger site, as many of the most informed and regular posters seem to be defecting.
Now "House Price Crash" has the commercial interest of its advertisers in front of its members I don't know if it can stay balanced, there have already been plenty of reports of "heavy moderation" or in other words censorship.0 -

It's a shame what's happening with all the advertising. I don't object to the adverts at the top, or even down the side. But the post adverts are a bit of a joke.
The thing with those sites, is it's the members who make it (and could break it). Some top posters have now stopped posting, and gone to GHPC. If those posters go, I shall probably follow. However, GHPC is not as nice looking as HPC.
This website is also very good, but it does not go anywhere near the depth that HPC goes into regarding future property prices and the economy. It merely skims the surface!0 -

Agreed, I've learnt so much in the last year or so about not only the housing market, but the economy in general.
Good blog, and loads of great anecdotals, links, and people who've seen it all before, and haven't talked themselves out of the possibility of it happening again.
For people too young to remember what happened between '89 & '96 they at least have the excuse that they've only ever seen property rise, but it amazes me that people who do remember it, can possibly believe that things are so different this time, if anything it gonna be worse.0
