Crumbs tenmah that seems a wee bit expensive to me but there you go.
    Hope you enjoyed it though.

Hope it was better than the Manchester one!

I've made a bit ooopsie. Supposed to be going to a carol service the other side of Leicester. Thought it started at 5. Reread the e-mail and it's 4!
Not going to get there - only just taken my head out of the oven!

tenmah - i do that too. I refuse to pay for alcohol as I can't consume it, so when me and Pint go out with our friends I usually pay between £5-10 less than the others and cos Pint drinks more he makes it up.

Went to Sainsbury's and got wrapping stuff, may start wrapping pressies. Starting to feel Christmassy but won't til next weekend with my mum

  • Afternoon all.....had a lovely night with 8 BFs....even our long lost mate who moved to Dorset made the effort to hop on 4 trains to get up here for it!Didn't drink too much (just enough:D)so no hangover which is a bonus! Even better, I won a lovely plushy cow that is filled with a lavender scented seed pillow that you heat in the micro-I thought about buying one last week when my back was bad,but didnt-now I have one anyway-result!
MRI scan says my back is fcuk'ed to coin a phrase-but nothing that can be "fixed" as such-I just have to mollycoddle it apparently..will tell that to DH when he moans I haven't mowed the grass!Lower lumbar vertabrae badly malformed, spinal cord longer than it should be, and cavity filled with spinal fluid,1 leg longer than other, 1 foot smaller than other,no relexes in R leg.....ah well, could be worse....

Off to an engagement party tonight-d'ya think I should shout "Don't do it!"????

I did find it expensive as well, but the food itself was £18 a head, and I did have a couple of Tia Maria's on top of that, so it probably wasn't so bad for me, but for the people who didn't drink it would have been a lot.

Oh dear SRM, that doesn't sound too good, especially when there isn't anything medical that can be done?

Lou, I'm really sorry to hear about your mum, I hope everything's fine.

SRM, that's awful, I'm sorry they can't do anything for you.

Beanie, brilliant news, what course are you doing, is it the personal finance one, or is that someone else on here.

    Becky, well done!

I can't believe it's nearly five already. Really enjoyed my tutorial, I'm definitely going to try and get to the rest. Went into town and got a nice silver chain for a fiver, so now I can actually wear my HD charms, and then got a couple (well, 4) books from Borders, including a Venice guide. I'm going to have to go a few times to be able to see everything though! Borders was packed, even though the offers still aren't good. Fiction mostly has 30% off, but that's pretty standard from Amazon and even Waterstones online, and is no better than the 3 for 2 that borders have always done. Non fiction and classics were 40% off though, so I got a few I've wanted for ages. They're also selling off the fixtures and fittings, but the bookcases are all too deep for my rooms.

4th till 8th January, my flights (including stupid 'privilege of paying' and 'privilege of checking in' charges) were £50, they went up by a tenner in the three hours it took me to make up my mind to go! It's flying from Liverpool, which is a bit of a pain but it's not too expensive to get there. Then I'll be looking at around £70 for a youth hostel for 4 nights.

50 quid for flights insn't too bad, when I went to Spain I think ours were £280, and had gone up £100 in the space of three days, Was worth it though, may do it again next year.
