Hope I have the correct forum for this. if not is this message able to be posted into the correct forum.
Hi, I looked into buying some ugg boots for my girlfriend and her daughter for christmas and came across the website uggsbootsstore . com (link not postable)
Made a few selections and kinda blindly went through the order procedure (The only information I parted with at that time was my name, address, mobile telephone number and e-mail address.
Everything seemed to be going well. I was given an order number and forwarded onto the shipping page (not yet forwarded to payment page).
I confimed the shipping address and e-mail details etc and somewhat blindly clicked to continue to pay. upon clicking the check out button I recived some error codes. Alarm bells started ringing in my head. I check my e-mail to see my order ready to go at double the price the inital quote was. The below message was at the end of the email.
(Hi, Thank you very much for your order. Here are the details of your order. Please make sure you go through the payment procedure so that we can process the order for you.)
at this stage I tried to use the contact us page to query the error code and the price quoted in the e-mail. however I get an error message when I click the send now button.
So at this stage all I have given is address, mobile phone and email address.
All I have recieved is an e-mail quoting my order at double the price
My questions are this:
Am I obligated to pay anything for this service giving that they do not have any card details?
are there any reprocusions if I just ignore the email/correspondance?
am I just being paranoid as I have given my address details etc?
one final one there does not seem to be anywhere/way I can cancel this 'pre shipping order' or do I even need to?
I realise this is a bit of a wall of text issue and any help is greatly appriciated as I am now quite paranoid and welcome all and any advice. Yes I do realise I may have been a tad nieve in this process.
Thank you in advance

Just ignore it. You haven't paid anything yet, I'm assuming you hadn't even got round to entering any payment details yet. Be thankful it fell over before you were commited as they're more than likely fake anyway.0

No no payment details yet. if i did not get the error message code 109,108 something like that then yes it may have been unfortunate. as it stands I have since been able to send a message via the on site reply/message service stating roughly
Order Ref No ******
Tried to select boots to order entered details but was given error code before being able to pay for goods, and have since recived an email quoteing double the price initially quoted therefore I wish to cancel my order.
No reply yet and i belive im fine just a bit paranoid that my home details were entered.0 -
Whatever you do, DO NOT feed any more info into this site. Ugg boots are a favourite topic for scammers - your card details will end up flogged to every criminal gang between Moscow and Beijing. Run away now, you do not owe these people anything.
Recently reported on BBC news the police have shut down 1200 or so of these sites.A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -
Yeah I don't intend to belive me, I will have no more contact with the site. and i think the bad coding/errors that lead to this discovery (no card details have been passed).
Thanks for the advice I feel a bit more 'at ease' now0 -
Paranoia attack again. Should I change my phone number, and I'm still concerned as they have my address details.0

I don't think there's much need to be worried with the info you've given - it's pretty much stuff that's in public domain anyway. Just be wary of any unexpected phone calls (ie cold callers) and take your usual care with suspicious looking emails. I don't think they've got enough to try ID theft or anything, and not having fed them any financial info you probably won't be on the 'sucker list'.
You could change your phone number and email, but is it worth the disruption?A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -
How on earth did you come to think a website with a name like that was legit??0
