Hi people, wonder if you can help me out?
I'm just about to put my 206 on the market - baby on the way. Unfortunately, when I was having the car MOT'd the other day, the garage must have disconnected the battery and so the radio is now asking for the code (which I've never had). I've already tried a few obvious ones (1,2,3,4 etc) and no joy so far. The garage who MOT'd the car is a small local one who don't have any suggestions, and the dealer I bought the car from is currently closed for refurbishment. Short of writing to the person who is named as the last keeper, does anyone know how I can unlock it?
It's just the bog standard Peugeot radio cassette one that came with the LX model. I'm assuming that since you can unlock phones, you can unlock car radios....??
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Car radios can be unlocked like phones, well not actually unlocked but the code is fairly easy to obtain. You will need the serial number of the radio, usually stamped in to the side or back of the casing, which means taking the radio out of the dashboard.
It might be worth contacting the previous owner, are they in the phone book? I did this in the past but he didnt know it either, next I went to the main Dealer, they had it on record and didnt charge me for it.
Be careful about guessing the code as some permanently lock after a number of wrong goes.

If your garage who did the MOT caused this problem, you should get them to sort it out and pay any charges as there is not need to disconnect the battery for an MOT test. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I got the code for my radio, SEAT not Peugeot from the main dealer, via their customer services department. As they weren't the supplying or servicing dealer it cost me £15.00 in administration fees.0
