If you can get custody and claim child benefit, then you claim WTC/CTC, otherwise you would need to be working 30hrs + and over 25yrs,to get WTC only.

Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit seem to be benefits that you would get paid on an income of around £200 p/w, its worth filling in the forms and applying to your local council - the worst they coudl say is No.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

Can you look for a full-time job? Or a second job around the first one?
