Just bought meself a DVD hard disc recorder, so I am about to dump the old VCR. However, I thought I would firstly transfer my video tapes to DVD. Now I know the concept of recording them on to the hard drive on the recorder, then transfering them onto a DVD disc, BUT---- how do I do it? ie, what leads do I need etc. I just want to do a straight transfer, no editing or adding titles ( unless its dead easy). My machine is a SONY HX 525.

on my machine which is a dvd recorder (not hard drive),you just switch the source of the recording in the settings menu and use a svideo to composite cable ,however it wont record from commercially made video's as there is copy protection.

I have an LG7500 harddrive recorder which I have used to back up my commercial video tapes, just connected with a scart lead no problem0

you all make it sound so easy, I'll give it a go. I was quoted £100 to have them all done professionally, so I'll be saving money ( so I've told my OH when he saw how much the DVD recorder cost. Thanks everyone.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0
