Balance transfer from overdraft

Hi, I'm looking for some advice from the experts out there please. I've been offered the 6.9% balance transfer for life on to Barclaycard for £4k. The only downfall is that I want to do this from my Lloyds TSB overdraft which Barclaycard don't allow as far as I can tell. As far as I can tell I can transfer onto my Egg card and then transfer back out to Barclaycard. The pain doing this is that I will have to pay two lots of balance transfer fees. Can anyone think of another way? And is it safe to do? I don't want to transfer on to my Egg card and pay a fee if I then find out Barclaycard actually say "no, we aren't going to do that afterall".

Thanks in advance from a long time lurker

  • You will probably need to do as you said above. If BC offered this recently then it should not be a problem unless they allow a 'super balance transfer' which means you can BT to your current account. Im sure someone else on the board here might be able to shed some more light on the different options with these banks
  • Cheers Duggie, looks like that's the route I'll need to go. Definitely worth it on % terms, just sad about effectively paying 2 balance transfer fees!
