I used airbricks in each gable to create a crossflow.

there is nothing restricting ventilation, ive left a 2 inch cap where new insulation buts upto the eves?
ive noticed some houses just have 2 roof tile vents on one side of the roof, and others have 2 roof vents on each side.
i may go for 4 roof tile vents,i.e 2 on each side of the roof, ive priced them at £30 each, and i will get 20% discount on them through my employer.0 -
Hi allen,
Whilst I'm not a roofing contractor, we fit or recommend tile vents on a regular basis.
If it's easier put a9" x 6" air brick in each gable wall, these could be approx 500mm above the top of your ceiling joists.
If the ventilation is still inadequate (ie you still have condensation in there) consider 2 tile vents in each elevation approx half way up.
another trick we use when installing condensation control units (for internal ventilation) is to get some bits of timber app 25mm x 50mm (doesn't need to be exact) and place them where your underfelt overlaps, this will increase your loft ventilation without the cost of fitting tile vents.
Hope this is of use and makes sense
Good Luck
