Change of name and credit card applications

Hi,

I posted on here a couple of months ago. Got married in February and wanted to know about how to get my name changed on the electoral roll and with Experian etc.

People on here advised me that once I had changed my name on my current account, existing credit cards etc, they would automatically notify Experian etc.

However, I just applied to a home phone provider, and had my application intially turned down - because my name didn't match my address (they still had me under my maiden name).

So now I am concerned; what happens when I next apply for a credit card, as surely I will have the same problem, it certainly looks as though the new details haven't filtered through?

Thanks.

    Hi boots_babe

I think credit card companies usually ask if you have been known by another name in the last (say) 3 years. Just like how they ask for previous addresses.
