Excel problem

One of my Excel files has magiced itself into a read-only file. If Ii want to edit it I'm told to save as new file which is ok but I can't delete the original file.
Any ideas as to how to revert the original file to read/write or how to delete it?

  • Thanks for that. Strange thing is the Read Only check box is not ticked.

dont quote me on this, but if you start your computer in safe mode (hit f8 as it boots up) you should be able to remove it no problem.
Only time i remember not being able to remove a file like that was because of a virus... and that was a long time ago, we had windows 95 :|

might want to run a virus scan as a precuation.
