Continuous ink systems

I was replying to someone elses thread and then thought, "i bet alot of people dont know about CIS systems".
A continuous ink system is basically a way to save a huge amount on ink, the systems usually include special cartridges that have been adapted to trick the printer into thinking they are full. A small cable then leaves the cart to a much large ink reservoir.
When i had to replace all my ink carts in my hp photosmart 3210 at once i realised new hp ones would cost me £50 and contain roughly 3-5ml of ink each. I brought a CIS system which comes with 100ml of each ink included.
As you can guess the cost saving is huge (upwards of £500) and when you need more ink you simply buy 100ml bottles for £5-8 each.
You can find various suppliers via Google (not going to recommend any particular one).
Feel free to ask any questions

I have just started using them for my Epsom R200 and I am pleased with the results so far.
The instuctions are not very clear about refilling the containers. The Low Ink Warning Line is impossible to see but I assume you fill pulling the plastic tab at the top of each container without disconnnecting the system from the printer.
I have read something about problems with replacement black ink so I assume you need to get ink that is compatable with your printer rather than any bog standard stuff!0 -
Yes no need to disconnect the system when refilling.
And yes make sure you buy the ink thats right for your system.0
