Type about:config in the address bar in Firefox. In the filter, type fast. This should bring up most of the instances of where Fast Browser Search has taken over. Right click on each of the Fast Browser Search entrys and select reset. This should put most of them back to google. Also typed in fbs in the filter section which will find more fast browser search stuff reset them as well. That should be it.
  • YIPEE!!!!! Thank you so much, AlienRik, and Asininity.... Looks like we've done it!! So I'm all ok now then? And do you think I should do this say monthly? Thank you again x

What install malware or the scans???:)

Monthly scans are worth while, unless you install naughty applications and visit dodgy sites otherwise well you get the idea.

With sensible browsing and common sense (ie trust nothing on the internet) monthly is ok.
  • lol, no i dont think I do anything naughty on the web, unless you know of a hunky nude man site you can recommend, lol..... (only joking!)

Tbh, I only really go on a few site, 90% of my time is on MSE...

    Thanks

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Reboot and go into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING (Keep pressing F8) and attempt to download and run COMBOFIX from there

    Please run COMBOFIX

    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download[/QUOTE]

Its coming up an error as your thought it might, but can I hellas find were to change the file name?

Forget that I found it on Documents and Settings, sorry
