Finding some-one years later

How do you go about finding a son you have not seen for 20 years?

We saw my OHs ex wife (from 20 years ago) in Sainsburys one day and although I told him to go and speak she said that if he ever saw his son out with her he must never tell him who he is.

OH has always wanted to contact his son but scared to, but as time goes on and we're geting older he thinks more and more about him and wants to find him but doesnt know how.

I'm adding this in hope it is allowed. If not administrators please edit.

Your OH's son is an adult now so he'll be on the electoral role. That'd be a good place to start.

Also consider looking at Friends Reunited - it's v.popular with school leavers, especially from more recent years.

Sounds like your OH's ex still has a chip on her shoulder, or has told her son some untruths. IMO the young man in question is perfectly entitled to know who his father is and to have more details about his own background, especially if there are any hereditary medical conditions he'd be better off knowing about.

Good luck, I hope it becomes a happy ending, even if the ex is obstructive.
