Asparagus Soup?

Hi
Anyone got a recipe for Asparagus soup? My OH brought loads straight from the farm and its just starting to go over a bit. I thought I might be able to freeze it as soup? Any ideas gratefully received. :D
I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

    Not sure of the exact recipe, but my mum thickens hers up with a bit of smash (sounds weird I know, but tastes yummy).

    If you make the main base with the stems, some stock and thicken it with a bit of smash, whizz it and sieve it then add whole tips at the end to finish it off.

    My mum buys bags of the snapped and woody asparagus cheaply from the asparagus farm. She keeps them in the freezer and just makes soup when she needs it. They seem to freeze ok.
