Thainstone is a waste of time for sellers and never found much worth buying either. There is a far better market on the main road heading North just past Huntly roundabout.

  • Hey Guys

I don't know, we had a car booter in September past and we made £311!

We had HEAPS of stuff to sell and were there from 7.30 til about 2ish. I do remember a lot of ridiculous haggling though. Towards the end we didn't have that much left, but I had a 9ct gold bracelet which I just wanted rid of really, but when I said to the lady looking at it "50p?" she shook her head and moved on. I was like "what???" haha!

Hubby had a lot of old vinyl which was a good seller as were his old golf clubs. He was done though by a gent who went for a Santana record which unbeknown to us was very rare! He sold it to this guy for a fiver....and then overheard him at the burger van saying he'll get about £50 for it online, we were sick!! Hahaha, never mind!

Old Playstation / Xbox games a MASSIVE seller, we got a fiver to a tenner each for them, some of them still new in the shops, but hubby gets bored of them once completed and folk were more than willing to pay a tenner each for them rather than got to HMV and pay £30.

Anyway, thanks to that fab day I got some real uggs and some new specs, hubby got nothing as he had treated himself to a new Playstation a couple of weeks before!

Happy car booting, we're doing another in the summer! Watch out for wasps though, best go May / June time :):)
  • Hi,

My Cheerleading group are having a fundraising Carboot on the 30th Jan in the scout hall in the bridge of don, next to the Alex Collie Centre. Tables are available for £5 a table for sellers...it's only a small one, but if you are interested phone 07795113655 to book a table.
