At what point did you get a figure for the debt and how much was it?

Was this to an estimated reading?

On top of your quarterly billing how much money did you pay on top of the bill towards your debt?

Another reason when you changed suppliers for the bill increasing may be that you had been billed to an estimate and a correct reading was then received from your new supplier. As advised before you can get all this info if you do not have it by writing to BG.

  • Feel free to correct me but a prepayment meter is a reasonable way of keeping a supply going with also getting rid of any debt. you say you may struggle to get top ups to get a constant supply but I think you can do this through the computer now (One of the BGE guys could give more suggestions.

I really don't think it's unreasonable to ask BG to write off at least some portion of this debt in compensation for the appalling customer service.

This is an alarming statement that is appearing all to often now a days if you used the energy then just pay for it mistake do happen we are only human. If for any reason I was not being billed I would be asking questions why I was not.
