Which free anti-virus works best on Netbooks?

I've just brought a Samsung N140 Netbook and was wondering which free anti-virus program works best (I guess one that doesn't use much memory?) on Netbooks?

Is Avast a good option and if I go for this do I also need additional programs for anti-spyware?

On my netbook (Aspire one) I used Avast, sypbot search and destroy and ccleaner. All ran very nicely

Microsoft Security Essentials won't slow down your netbook.

Avira AntiVir is one of the most lightweigh AVs I've used - significantly less memory usage than Avast or AVG...

Avira is one of the lightest, Haven't tried MSE, but it seems to get good reviews.
